Do You Ever Just...

Do you ever just realize that you're leaving for Indonesia in about three months and start freaking out a little bit? I certainly do! It's crazy to think that the YES Abroad kids who were in Thailand and India for 2013-2014 came home a few days ago. It's seriously so hard to believe that some of my friends will be the next YES Abroaders in those countries. It feels like we were just applying yesterday!

Now that AP exams are over, I think it's about time that I post again. However, I will warn you that nothing much has happened since I last wrote. My application was finally sent to Indonesia a little while ago though! I also started talking to a girl from Iceland who is going to Indonesia too.

I have been trying my best to learn a bit of Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) too. I can now say a few things that range from "saya tidak tahu" (I don't know) and "saya tidak bisa bicara Bahasa Indonesia" (I don't speak Indonesian) to "meja itu tidak hijau" (The table isn't green). It probably looks like I can only say things in the negative, but I promise I can say other stuff too! For instance, "terima kasih" means "thank you" and "nama saya Victoria" means "my name is Victoria." I'm hoping to learn a little bit more before I go, so I'll (hopefully) remember some stuff when I get to Indonesia!

My local PDO (pre-departure orientation) is next weekend, so I'll also make a post about that. Exactly one month after that, which also happens to be my birthday, the national PDO in DC starts! I'm super excited to see all of my fellow YES Abroaders again. I actually haven't met all of the other people going to Indonesia with YES Abroad, so I can't wait to meet all of them either!

Selamat tinggal!
